About the Artist

Hi! I’m Sarah: former art teacher, lifelong creative, and professional artist. Over the years, I’ve had many requests for watercolor classes, but life conspired and I never got it done.

 

Well now I’m ready! I tried to think about everything I wished I knew starting out, and I’ve added all that into the plan. These classes will take you from absolute beginner to confident watercolorist, and we’ll do it all in person, in very small groups (max of 6/class), from the cosy comfort of my firelit home in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada.

Description

Looking for a fun and creative way to make someone smile? Join us for an afternoon of painting charming, cheeky watercolour cards that are perfect for a variety of occasions. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, sending congratulations, offering encouragement, or simply making someone laugh, these handmade cards add a personal touch that store-bought cards can’t match.

This all-levels workshop is designed to be relaxed, approachable, and full of creativity. Students will create six unique card fronts during the class, with opportunities to complete additional designs if time allows. Each project is designed to be simple enough to recreate at home whenever you need a thoughtful card in a hurry.

Along the way, you’ll practice foundational watercolour techniques, explore playful design ideas, and build confidence creating small, finished pieces of art.

Perfect for beginners and experienced painters alike, this workshop is a wonderful opportunity to create a collection of cards you’ll be proud to share with family and friends.

Returning students are welcome. All card designs in this workshop are new, so if you’ve attended one of Sarah’s previous card classes, you won’t be painting any repeat projects.

  • Classes are capped at 7. Please note I may need to offer you a different date if your first choice has filled up.
  • If minimum numbers are not met, you will be offered a different date or a full refund.
  • Students wishing to cancel their registration must give 48 hours notice for a full refund. No-shows will not be refunded.
