My husband’s Nana and Grandpa were married in the ‘30s and began their family of seven during the Depression. Grandpa was a true romantic. In spite of the financial hardship of the time, he brought Nana a single red rose every Friday for over 50 years to show his love for her. When he couldn’t do it anymore, one of his sons kept up the tradition for him. Red roses will always remind me of their enduring love.
