I was asked recently to paint some bouquets, but I’m very picky about the photos I select. I’m always looking for that emotional connection that’s so hard to define. This arrangement, with its complementaries (blue and orange, red and green) sprinkled evenly around, made me remember the bright blue urn my great grandmother kept on her kitchen windowsill in western New York State, filled with whatever flowers were blooming in her yard at the time. She loved to poke around in her garden, and would often find different herbs to stick in her bouquets to add to the fragrance in her tiny kitchen. So this bouquet is a special one to me, and I hope it strikes a chord with you as well.
