Rhody with Bumblebee

SKU N/A Categories , , Tag
On a recent trip to Vancouver Island, I was enchanted by the rhododendrons in full bloom. Soft and fluffy, these blossoms appear in a variety of colors and attract pollinators of all kinds. This particular bush was beset with fuzzy bumblebees, sometimes thought to be the most important of pollinators because of the large pollen baskets on their legs. They can visit 10-18 flowers in a minute, so it can be tricky to capture a photo of one at rest.
