Hi there! I’m Sarah, a former art teacher turned professional artist, and I’m excited to invite you to my watercolor classes. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, I’ve designed these classes just for you!
Take Your Watercolour Skills to the Next Level
You’ve learned the basics of watercolour painting. Now it’s time to build on those skills, explore new techniques and develop greater confidence in your artwork. Watercolour Beyond the Basics is a series of 4-hour, project-based workshops designed for students who have completed my Beginner Watercolour Weekend or have equivalent watercolour experience. Each workshop focuses on one essential watercolour principle or technique. Through guided exercises and a hands-on painting project, you’ll deepen your understanding, develop your skills and discover new ways to approach your artwork.
Whether you’re interested in mastering colour, understanding light and shadow, improving your compositions or exploring new painting techniques, there’s something here for you.
What to Expect
Each four-hour workshop combines demonstrations, guided practice and a finished painting project. With a different focus in every class, you’ll have the opportunity to strengthen individual skills while enjoying the creative process. These workshops help you move beyond simply following instructions, to making more confident, independent artistic decisions.
Your Watercolour Journey, Your Way
These workshops are not sequential! Each class stands on its own, so there’s no need to take them in order. Simply choose the topics that interest you most and build your skills at your own pace.
Classes are small, relaxed, and held in my cozy home studio in Sherwood Park, with hands-on guidance throughout. Come curious, and leave with new skills you’ll use in every painting that follows.
